BLISS: body software - Weight loss, mood and quality of life

Did you know…?

When you feel sad or irritable, it might seem impossible to turn your mood around. But simple changes to your dietary habits and lifestyle can result in a noticeably improved mood and even weight loss. While treatment of clinical depression and mood disorders should be discussed with your doctor, for most people, eating foods rich in certain vitamins and minerals and complementing your diet with alternative supplements could be exactly what you need to turn your mood around, lose weight and even eliminate addictive behavior due to neurochemical imbalance.

What is Bliss?

Bliss is composed of ingredients that help support the production of neurochemicals involved in pleasure, reward, and mood.  In addition, Bliss helps improve thyroid function and thermogenesis, leading to improved cellular energy, metabolism and body composition.  Not only will you feel an improvement in your mood, but you will also notice a reduction in addictive behavior also associated with a deficiency in these neurochemicals.

BLISS: body software contains:

5-HTP (l-5-hydroxytryptophan) - 5-HTP is a chemical compound that is naturally produced in your body as it makes serotonin, an important hormone for regulating your mood. Some doctors consider 5-HTP to be the best natural appetite suppressant. 5-HTP is also naturally produced in various plants, including the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia, a West African shrub. In addition to suppressing your appetite, there is some research that suggests that 5-HTP can also help treating headaches, insomnia, depression, and fibromyalgia.

Green Tea Extract (leaf)  - Green Tea is an ancient and potent tonic that is believed to boost the immune system.  It is said to possess potent antibacterial, antiviral and anticarcinogenic   properties, and the Chinese have used this natural antioxidant for centuries to revitalize and prolong life.  Green Tea is also rich in fluoride and may help to reduce tooth decay.  Heart- healthy, eye-healthy, brain-healthy Green Tea may also be helpful as a tool in weight management regimens.

L-Tyrosine - Tyrosine is a nonessential amino acid the body makes from another amino acid called phenylalanine. It is an essential component for the production of several important brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, including epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Neurotransmitters help nerve cells communicate and influence mood. Tyrosine also helps produce melanin, the pigment responsible for hair and skin color. It helps in the function of organs responsible for making and regulating hormones, including the adrenal, thyroid, and pituitary glands. It is involved in the structure of almost every protein in the body.

Mucuna Pruriens (95% L-Dopa) - The magic of every therapeutic plant resides in its beneficial, active compounds. The interaction between these compounds is typically responsible for the plant’s favorable effects. In Mucuna pruriens, levodopa, or L-dopa, is one of these compounds. This bioactive chemical is a precursor to several neurotransmitters, including adrenaline, noradrenaline, and dopamine.  Mucuna pruriens has significant antioxidant action that works in tandem with L-dopa to promote brain health. When L-dopa crosses the blood-brain barrier, it helps to increase brain levels of dopamine, an essential neurotransmitter associated with regulating mood and cognition. Research also suggests that antioxidants are helpful for defending against oxidative damage by free radicals.

Phenibut (as Phenyl-Y-AminoButyric Acid) - Phenibut is actually derived from GABA, which is a neurotransmitter that is found in the barrier between one’s blood and brain. It was originally discovered in Russia, and people have been using it to treat anxiety in that country since the 1960s. Its original use was targeted towards astronauts who were dealing with higher levels of stress and anxiety while they were in space for long periods of time. This supplement is often compared to Valium when it comes to its ability to reduce stress, although the strength of Phenibut is not as severe as most pharmaceutical drugs. Many people often refer to it as a nootropic or “smart drug”.

SAMe (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine) - SAMe has been used to treat psychiatric illnesses, infertility, liver problems, premenstrual disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions.  SAMe has been widely studied for osteoarthritis and depression. There is evidence that SAMe may help reduce the pain of osteoarthritis.  Some evidence is available for the use of SAMe for depression, fibromyalgia, and bile flow problems during pregnancy. SAMe has also been studied for its potential anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
