THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTIC

“All natural complete digestive support that helps maintains the balance of good and bad bacteria in the digestive tract.”

Did you know…?

The term "probiotic" means "for life." Probiotics are good bacteria—living microorganisms—like those that live naturally in your digestive tract.

To support good digestive health, it’s important to have a balance of good bacteria in your digestive tract. Things like diet and travel can impact the good bacteria. So it’s important to incorporate a healthy diet with your daily probiotic.

A probiotic supplement like THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTIC adds to your body's good bacteria and naturally helps support digestive and immune health every day. It's a good idea to take your probiotic at the same time every day so it becomes a part of your daily health routine, just like eating breakfast, exercising or grabbing a healthy snack in between meals when you're hungry.

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are bacteria that help maintain the natural balance of organisms (microflora) in the intestines camera. The normal human digestive tract contains about 400 types of probiotic bacteria that reduce the growth of harmful bacteria and promote a healthy digestive system. The largest group of probiotic bacteria in the intestine is lactic acid bacteria, of which Lactobacillus acidophilus, found in yogurt with live cultures, is the best known. Yeast is also a probiotic substance. Probiotics are also available as dietary supplements.

Can probiotics improve your health?

It may not surprise you to hear that probiotics can reduce constipation (Italy, Amenta et al. 2006). But what may surprise you, is that probiotics play a role in cancer. They have been shown stimulate production of anti-cancer chemicals (Hatakka et al. 2008). The probiotics, Lactobacillus casei, have also been shown in Tokyo to reduce the risk of bladder cancer, depending on frequency and dosage (Ohashi et al. 2002).

Numerous probiotics have been shown to fight viruses such as colds, the flu, rotavirus, herpes and ulcers. In New Delhi, 100 children ages 2-5 were given L. acidophilus for 6 months. These children have fewer incidences of colds, flu, diarrhea and fever than the placebo group (Saran et al. 2002).

What are the health benefits of probiotics?

Digestive Health

Each of us has more than 1,000 different types of bacteria that live in our digestive tracts, helping us to break down food and absorb nutrients. But when we take antibiotics -- medicine that is designed to kill destructive, illness-causing bacteria -- the drugs can also kill the healthy intestinal flora that helps us digest. About 30 percent of the patients who take antibiotics report suffering from diarrhea or some other form of gastrointestinal distress, according to the recent JAMA study on probiotics and antibiotic-associated diarrhea. As a result, doctors commonly prescribe taking probiotics to "repopulate" the digestive tract with healthful bacteria. The study found that it was a viable solution for many.

But probiotics can also help with other types of digestive issues. Research has shown that probiotics can be helpful for people with irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS -- a hard-to-treat condition that can have a range of intestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. In one study, female IBS patients experienced some alleviation of symptoms like abdominal pain and irregularity when they were given a supplement of the bacterial strain, Bifidobacterium infantis.

Even for those without an urgent problem, probiotics can help with overall digestive management. Challa argues in his book, Probiotics for Dummies, that good bacteria help "crowd out" bad bacteria. That's because the intestine is lined with adherence sites where bacteria latches on. If the sites are populated with good-for-you microbes, there's no place for a harmful bacterium to latch on.

Urinary Health
Probiotics make a nice compliment to antibiotics among people who suffer from urinary tract infections, according to the research.

What's more, there's emerging evidence that regular probiotics can help prevent bad bacteria from invading the urinary tract by maintaining a population of healthy bacteria on the tract's adherence sites.

Infections of the urinary tract are extremely common, especially in women. Most infections disappear with antibiotics, but about 30 to 40 percent might return, according to literature from the University Of Maryland Medical Center.

Allergies

Allergy research is still preliminary, but at least one large, high-quality study found a relationship between women taking probiotics during pregnancy and a 30 percent reduction in the instance of childhood eczema (an early sign of allergies) in their infants.

Researchers selected women who had a history of seasonal allergies -- or whose partners had histories of allergies. The infants who received probiotics in-vitro also had 50 percent higher levels of tissue inflammation, which is thought to trigger the immune system and reduce allergy incidence.

Women's Health

Just like the digestive tract, the vagina relies on a precarious balance of good and bad bacteria. When that balance is off, it can result in one of two very common, though thoroughly uncomfortable infections: bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. In fact, bacterial vaginosis can actually lead to a yeast infection.

Some small studies have found that L. acidophilus can help prevent infection, manage an already active one or support antibiotics as a treatment, though it's worth noting that the probiotics were taken as vaginal suppositories, rather than orally in food.

Probiotics may also have a special role in maternal health, as pregnant women are particularly susceptible to vaginal infections. And bacterial vaginosis has been indicated as a contributing factor to pre-term labor, making probiotics a potential boon for fetal health.

Immunity

Surprisingly, one of the main functions of healthful bacteria is to stimulate immune response.  By eating probiotic-rich foods and maintaining good intestinal flora, a person can also help to maintain a healthy immune system. And that has real-world effects: for example, in one small study of students, those who were given a fermented dairy drink (instead of milk) displayed increased production from lymphocytes -- a marker of immune response.

Weight Loss

You've heard that probiotics contain all sorts of nutrients that help you stay healthy. And as it turns out, probiotics could help you lose weight, too, according to a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition.

For the study, researchers from Laval University in Quebec instructed 125 overweight men and women to follow a 12-week weight-loss diet, followed by a 12-week maintenance period. Half of the participants also swallowed probiotic pills every day, and the other half got placebo pills.

What happened? After the 12-week weight-loss period, the women who took the probiotic pills had lost 9.7 pounds, on average, while the women who took the placebos only lost 5.7 pounds. And then, after the 12-week maintenance period, the women who took the placebo pills maintained a stable weight—but the probiotics group continued to slim down, losing 1.8 more pounds, on average.  By the study's end, the women in the probiotics group also had less of the intestinal bacteria related to obesity in their systems. Interestingly, the probiotics didn't have a significant effect on the men in the study.

What the reviewer thought

Nowadays you have to be so careful what you take because anyone can make a vitamin or supplement and put a label on it.  One of the main reasons I like THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTIC is because it didn’t contain any harmful ingredients.  You’d be surprised what you find in some of these over-the-counter products.  However, this isn’t the case with Earth’s Pearl THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTICAll the ingredients in their probiotic are natural and my daughter who suffers from acid reflux saw a significant improvement in her condition and it also helped her with her lactose intolerance, irritable digestion symptoms, constipation and she lost a few pounds too.

As an author of the book, “The Complete Herbal Guide: A Natural Approach to Healing the Body - Heal Your Body Naturally and Maintain Optimal Health Using Alternative Medicine, Herbals, Vitamins, Fruits, and Vegetables, I found THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTIC to be very beneficial and the orange sickle flavor tastes great.”

It came quickly, packaged well and when my daughter and I tried it, we were impressed how well it worked.  I recommend it to others.  I will continue to buy THE BIGGEST LOSER PROBIOTIC.

Healthy Tricks to Boost Your Energy Level

In these fast paced modern times, we all need to have our energy up throughout the day just to keep up with our lives. However, we all know how hard it can be to maintain our energy and how bad those afternoon crashes can be. To be honest, our bodies are not supposed to perform at their best all the time, we all have our own biorhythms and body clocks we should learn to accommodate and work around since our bodies know what the best times for certain activities are. That said, we still have to get through the day at the office without dozing off and here are some suggestions on how to raise and maintain our energy levels.

1.      Get enough sleep
If there’s one thing that zaps our energy the most, it is the lack of sleep. You should get at least 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, preferably between 10pm and 8am, since our bodies benefit the most from sleep we get between 10pm and 2am. Afternoon naps, as short as 20 minutes or as long as 2 hours are beneficial as well. Think in terms of restarting your system, just like the computer.

2.      Drink a lot of water
Everyone should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. If you sweat more than once during the day, exercise, run or do sports, you need to drink much more to make up for the lost liquids. A well hydrated body will provide you with enough energy. Note that juice, coffee, tea or energy drinks don’t count, you have to drink plain water.

3.      Clean up your diet
If you expect your body to output good amounts of energy, you have to give it good input so that it can produce this energy. This means taking care of what you consume. Eliminate all artificial foods, sugars, salty and fatty foods and switch to a healthy balanced diet of veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds and fish. Try to eat organic and natural produce and go raw as much as you can. Juicing is a great way to make the most of all the nutrients.

4.      Replace coffee with green tea
Coffee is the first thing we resort to when our energy drops, but it actually only gives us a very short boost which is followed by a big energy crash. We drink more coffee but we only get jitters and insomnia yet we are still drained. A good way to get out of this vicious circle is to replace coffee with some good matcha tea from Australia which contains caffeine to boost our energy levels, but it also contains an additional ingredient called L-Theanine which allows for slower absorption of caffeine and provides a long lasting energy boost without the crash, the jitters and exhaustion.

5.      Move
Our bodies are not made for sitting and yet we spend most of our days sitting. It is natural that our metabolism will slow down and our energy level will drop because our body’s activity is minimal. To get out heart pumping more blood, to boost our circulation and provide our brain with more oxygen, we need to move as much as we can as often as we can. A 10 minute brisk walk outside can give us enough energy to run on for the next couple of hours. Longer walks have bigger effects. If you only have 5 minutes, you can play your favourite happy song and dance away to it, it will boost your energy like nothing else.

It is important to respect your body’s needs and give it best quality supplies including water, food, fresh air, sunlight, movement and sleep. It is not all that hard, you just have to learn how to work in partnership with your body rather than against it.
